Due to a promotion of the current postholder, an exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a 16-17 year oldIAPTservice Pathway Lead. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated clinician to work with young people, with leadership, supervision,CBTskills, and experience working with young people.
Greenwich Time to Talk has a history of high performance within the IAPT sector and a reputation for high recovery rates based on the excellent quality of the NICE compliant therapy delivered by highly skilled staff in a service with excellent staff retention rates.
Situated in outer London, the service covers the Greenwich, Charlton, Woolwich and Eltham areas, and has good transport links to London and Kent.
Main duties of the job
As the 16-17 year old pathway Lead you will continue the improvement of access and treatment of people in this client group. You will further develop and maintain relationships with the Greenwich Child and Adolescence Mental Health teams and other CAMHS Psychologists in Oxleas NHS Trust and third sector organisations and services. You will use your training and expertise to train the team of CBT Psychotherapists, Counsellors and Psychological Well-being Practitioners to help the team appropriately identify those who need specialist help and those who can benefit from primary care IAPT. You will be responsible for implementing treatments appropriate for this age group and developing a network with services for this client groups with a focus on integrated care. You will bring innovation to the service from the existing evidence-base. You will line manage and clinically supervise qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologists and CBT Therapists and Assistant Psychologists. You will receive expert supervision from Greenwich CAMHS in secondary care, in addition to supervision within the IAPT service.

Alongside your service development role, you will be expected to deliver psychological therapy interventions (CBT) on an individual and group therapy basis. You will be competent in the CBT model and be able to apply this across the age span. You will join a friendly and supportive team consisting of CBT Psychotherapists, Clinical/Counselling Psychologists, Psycho-therapeutic Counsellors and Psychological Well-being Practitioners.
You will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities. Community languages would be an advantage. You will be expected to work one shifted day per week (until 8pm), under Agenda for Change terms and conditions.
Oxleas has a large, well-established and supportive psychology department which is part of the Therapies Directorate within the Trust. This provides strong leadership and professional management and supports staff by prioritising supervision and continuing professional development. The department contains Psychologists with extensive training and experience in cognitive, psycho-dynamic and systemic approaches. There are strong links with the Institute of Psychiatry and the South Thames (Salomons) Clinical Psychology Training Scheme. There are good working relationships with both managers and other senior clinicians, and psychological therapy is well represented at senior managerial and clinical levels. The input from Psychologists is valued within the Trust and we undertake important roles, not only in clinical work, but also management, service development and clinical governance.
