We have an exciting opportunity for Mental Health nurses who are energetic, enthusiastic and capable to be at the forefront of some fantastic new initiatives.
Alongside our GP colleagues we have developed new mental health practitioner roles to work with the primary care networks in Bromley and Greenwich
In partnership with primary care colleagues the service aims to provide early assessment, treatment and improved access to evidence based interventions for people with mental health needs. This will both avoid care being escalated into secondary care unnecessarily and will support people to step down out of complex care settings.
Main duties of the job
You will be based within primary care providing care and support to patients presenting with Mental health issues this will include, triaging patients, carrying our physical health checks, running MH clinics and administering depot medication when required.
You will have support from colleagues in both primary care and secondary mental health care and opportunities each week to come together as a team to problem solve and engage in service and personal development activities.
Candidates will need the confidence to work independently, with experience of community work. All posts are full time and contracts are for 37.5 hours per week, allocation to a particular PCN will happen after successful candidates are appointed. We are interested in candidates who have experience of working age Mental Health as all work will be with patients over the age of 18, we are also interested in applicants who have a working knowledge of older adult Mental Health issues.
There is broader transformation of our Mental Health services and collectively these programmes of work will create significant improvements to the Mental Health offer in the Boroughs.
