Job summary

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Mental Health Nurse or a Registered Learning Disability Nurse to join our fast paced and innovative workforce in the reopening of an acute inpatient ward run by Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.

The unit is a mental health hospital with consists of two Working Age Acute wards. Each ward is a 20 bedded ward, that aims to assist those experiencing an acute mental health crisis achieve their own personal recovery.

We welcome applications from staff that are already on the NMC register with relevantexperience. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team involved in the delivery of care and therapy for our service users in many unique ways. You need to be a passionate role model in delivering care as well as keen to develop and build on your management and leadership skills.

A shift rota system operates, including weekends and night work. You will receive staff induction, in-house training and personal development reviews.

You will receive support and frequent supervision to help develop within this team.

Main duties of the job

  • Leading and supporting junior staff to deliver person centred care
  • Administration of medication and knowledge of medication management
  • Supporting the manager with managerial duties
  • Provide leadership in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting the unit within the Duty Senior Nurse role
  • Demonstrating professionalism through role modelling and compassionate care.
  • Comprehensive assessments and care planning.
  • Provide collective and compassionate leadership to the team.
