Job summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Non-Medical Prescriber Trainee to join the Greenwich Memory Service to become a Band 7 Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) at the completion of the NMP Course.

We are looking for an experienced Band 6 Nurse, with experience in working in Older Adults Community Mental Health within Memory services and or Dementia care.

To have a responsibility for the co-ordination and development of the memory clinics.

To provide line management /supervision to Band 5 and below team members working in the Memory Service

To have a key role in the on-going assessment, treatment and support to people with dementia, their carers and relatives who are referred to the memory service, including initiating psychometric testing.

To collaborate with members of the integrated older peoples' community mental health team, to provide professional advice and support where required.

To provide the specialist nursing knowledge and skills to the Memory Service.

To work effectively within the multi professional/ multi agency team to deliver high quality care.

The post holder will work under supervision from a Consultant Psychiatrist and alongside specialist memory nurse, Occupational Therapists and Psychologist.

The post holder will hold a caseload of complex clients experiencing memory difficulties, assessing, providing follow up post-diagnosis interventions, co-facilitation of groups and workshops.

The post holder will need to be motivated, passionate about Dementia care and be prepared to work as part of a team that are striving for excellency. They will need excellent communication skills, the ability to be flexible, work proactively and work well as part of a team.
