We're recruiting for Mental Health Inreach Manager to work within HMP Wandsworth.
An expert practitioner, the post holder is a source of expert advice to healthcare staff, prison staff, & offenders, responsible for the mental and physical health & well-being of offenders, operational management, day-to-day leadership of the mental health Resource Centre and outreach Service, development and support of specialist services.
To take a lead role in maximising
- Evidence based practice
- Takes leadership in providing alternative treatment models for service users.
- The post holder will have an ability to reach complex and critical judgements and have decision making skills to satisfy the expectations and demands of the role.
- The post holder will deliver and direct others to provide sound clinical interventions for offenders.
- The post holder will be required to take an active role in health training and development both within the team and Prison service in general
- The post holder will develop with audit and evaluation tools in line with Trusty strategy to improve the quality and clinical effectiveness of the resource centre/ outreach service.
Main duties of the job
- Development of a high quality health services Ensuring that appropriate systems are in place, which enable and facilitate the CPA, assessment, quality and completeness and continuity of care co-ordination for prisoners with mental health needs.
- Supervise junior staff undertaking highly complex clinical interventions
- To represent prison healthcare and be an active member of Directorate Board and other Trust forums as required
- To chair case conferences, multi disciplinary and professional meetings related to offender healthcare
- To actively contribute to the strategic direction and planning of prison health services.
- To offer professional advice related to service developments
- To effectively provide leadership, management and support to healthcare staff
- To be responsible for and directly manage delegated budgets as required
- To ensure that the Service provides clinically effective interventions which are guided by national and local standards and based on clinical evidence?
- To ensure that clinical interventions are effective in reducing the length of stay IPD and external transfers.
