Job summary

Are you a dynamic and aspiring Occupational Therapist interested in developing your clinical skills managing adults with neurological conditions in a community setting and with the credentials to swiftly transition into a band 6 post?

We have an exciting opportunity to join our expanding team in a Band 5 OT development role. We have secured funding to support the possibility of the successful candidate transitioning to a Band 6 specialist role within 12-24 months of joining the team, following an individualised development plan based on performance and clinical competencies.

As the successful candidate, you will join a forward looking and supportive MDT neuro rehab team, including OTs, Physiotherapists, SLTs, Rehabilitation Assistants & Specialist Neuro Nurses. We provide multi-disciplinary, evidence-based intervention to clients living in their own homes, care homes and within the local community, with regular opportunities for joint goal setting and intervention.

Our service actively encourages and supports continued professional development, with regular in-service training. If you are a newly qualified OT, you will be actively supported through a well-developed supervision structure and be part of Oxleas established preceptorship programme.

Main duties of the job

With support and training from the OT team, you will provide specialist neurological OT assessment and treatment to adults presenting with highly complex neurological conditions including; stroke, MND, MS, head injury and Parkinson's.

You will have experience of a range of practical placements, experience of using standardised OT assessments, have worked in a multi-disciplinary team and ideally provided individual and group work. Experience of working with adults with neurological conditions and recent training with a rehabilitation/neurology emphasis would be ideal, but is not essential. You need to have a strong understanding of the role of OT, be able to work autonomously, have high level communication skills, a flexible problem solving approach and demonstrate you are efficient with your caseload and time management.

So, if you are a versatile and enthusiastic OT who would like the opportunity to develop within our expanding, friendly team and you share our commitment to high quality, holistic client-centred care, we would love to hear from you.
