Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Band 7 Occupational Therapist (OT) to work in our Anxiety, Depression, Personality Disorder and Trauma (ADAPT) service, based in Woolwich. The post offers the opportunity to develop your clinical leadership skills, by supporting the team manager with quality improvement initiatives and clinical leadership roles, You will be expected to develop and review the occupational therapy services across the ADAPT pathway, ensuring the occupational needs of the service users are addressed and the Occupational Therapists are delivering a consistent service across our ADAPT service line (two teams).
Your clinical role will be embedded in the ADAPT East team where you will be responsible for carrying out skilled assessments and delivering interventions across occupational domains. You will also be required to take on the role of care co-ordination for a small group of complex service users.
You will need to be committed to a service user focus and creative in finding ways to help people develop and achieve personal goals. You will also contribute to delivering group interventions as required.
You will work alongside OT and multi-disciplinary colleagues, as well as a range of other agencies. You will also be responsible for providing supervision for staff within the team, contributing to the management of the referral system and assisting the team manager with quality improvement and other specific clinical tasks.
Main duties of the job
The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the Care Co-ordination of a small, specified caseload, within the Anxiety, Depression, Affective Disorders, Personality Disorders and Trauma (ADAPT) team. The postholder will also work closely with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), offering specialist occupational performance assessments and interventions, utilising a wide range of skills and experience to promote social inclusion opportunities. As the Clinical Specialist OT you will also contribute and consult on step down planning and facilitate transfer to primary care services wherever possible. In addition, you will support the ADAPT service manager with quality improvement initiatives across the Greenwich ADAPT service line, provide clinical supervision and undertake specific clinical tasks, as required.
