Job summary

We would like to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Mental Health Nurse to our Intensive Case Management in Psychosis Team (ICMP) based at Carlton Parade in Orpington.

The team is part of the Bromley East Locality Mental Health Service and provides integrated mental health support for people experiencing psychosis or bipolar disorder. It is a multi-disciplinary team, which provides both health and social care for people using the service. The Team is made up of Community Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapist, Psychologists and Psychiatrists.

The team is busy but provides a supportive working environment with regular supervision, reflective practice and peer support. The post holder would be expected to hold a caseload including people on CPA and standard care.

The applicant will have experience of working in Mental Health Services and will be ready to work in a community mental health setting.

Main duties of the job

The Community Psychiatric Nurse role is suitable for Registered Nurseswho have successfully completed preceptorship and have registered as anapproved NMC mentor.The post holder will deliver, or advise on the delivery of, high quality safenursing care, ensuring consistently high standards of practice and clinicalexcellence which comply with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of professional conduct.As a Community Psychiatric Nurse/you will promote and develop clinicalleadership and clinical practice and be a positive role model to junior members of the team through the practice of evidence-based care. You will be expected to support professional development through clinical appraisaland supervision and contribute to the ongoing educational programme forstaff, fostering a positive learning environment. Your professional andpersonal development will include further postgraduate study and you will be encouraged and supported by your line manager to undertake Master'sprogrammes.

1. Working autonomously within the parameters of the role leading and supporting junior staff and wider care team to implement the delivery of quality nursing care, contributing to the physical, psychological, social, recreational and spiritual care in a recovery-focused way through therapeutic engagement and activities, and taking steps to address any issues that arise.2. Leading on and undertaking activities to ensure that the fundamentals of care are met - nutrition, hydration, hygiene, comfort, emotional and social support: Co-ordinating and evaluating collaborative patient centred care; gettingfeedback and improving plans with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT). Developing care plans that reflect service user needs and relevant patientcare documentation working in partnership with service users, wider MDT and family/carers.
