Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to spend twelve months working as a Trust Registrar in Plastic Surgery at QVH.

Previous candidates have found the job very useful to increase their experience in plastic surgery, which has helped in applications for approved HEE training posts. All posts offer a structured weekly teaching programme with opportunities for study and research.

Important application instructions:1. If you are currently and ST1 to 3 (SHO) or this is your first registrar level role you must provide your current clinical supervisor as your first referee.

2. You MUST ensure you upload your e-log book on the CV upload section

3. You MUST ensure you provide accurate answers to the procedural question in the application form

4. If you are shortlisted for intervew you will be required to provide a supporting letter from your AES as approval of readiness for this role

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will have a varied weekly clinical programme and, in addition, we are keen for the successful applicant to fully integrate in departmental life. To that end we encourage audit, teaching and departmental service development.

The post of Trust Registrar is not a recognised Health Education England training post. There is ample opportunity to gain experience in the diagnosis and treatment of the injured patient and to gain experience on consultant-led ward rounds and in consultant led theatre lists. There is a weekly departmental teaching session and monthly clinical governance meetings, in which the post holder is expected to actively participate.
