Tiny Tugs Medway NHS Foundation Trust Day Nursery cares for children aged 6 months to 5 years in a purpose-built day nursery setting located conveniently on the hospital site for Trust employees. An exciting opportunity to offer two qualified practitioners to join our well-established team of dedicated early years professionals who take a holistic approach to learning and place every child at the centre of what they do to achieve the best outcomes.

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will contribute to delivering an ambitious curriculum of engaging play and learning activities that align with the Early Years Foundation Stage. Our holistic approach for each individual child ensures they can develop in a safe, secure, emotionally, and physically stimulating environment.

Job responsibilities

To support and assist with the smooth running of the nursery service in the absence of the Nursery Manager, Deputy or Early Years Foundation Stage Lead and at times being a key holder responsible for opening and closing of the building.

To take clear messages/enquiries verbally and/or via telephone/email when required and forwarding them to the appropriate person, completing documentation for fire drills, risk assessments, room developments, child assessments, individual care plans, accident/medicine forms, and incident reports.

Knowing the Trust and nursery processes and role in handling customer complaints and or reporting using the Datix system

To lead in planning a curriculum that involves a wide range of enjoyable, stimulating and educational activities for the children in your group room which covers all aspects of the childs development and meets the individual needs of all children.

Supports the Nursery Manager, Deputy and Early Years Foundation Stage Lead in meeting Ofsted requirements implementing policies and procedures.

To lead by example, supporting work as part of a team with other staff members to ensure the children receive the highest possible standard of childcare. To ensure any problems relating to your unit are reported to the manager on duty.

Ensure that accidents/individual problems with children, staff or parents are brought to the manager on dutys attention.
