Specialty Doctors must be fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise. We require a senior Specialty Doctor with a minimum of 6 years full time regular hospital experience at registrar level or above (or equivalent), of which at least 2 years must be in the speciality of General Surgery. It is likely that the successful candidate is able to undertake emergency operations in CEPOD in a supervisor unscrubbed capacity. FRCS is essential.
The appointee must have done the following independently:
Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy - Minimum 50
Inguinal Hernia Repair - Minimum 50
Emergency Laparotomy - Minimum 100
Laparoscopic Appendicectomy - Minimum 80
