We are looking for a Consultant (Locum fixed term 12 month job in the first instance) to come join the respiratory team and support our new respiratory ward and help manage our out-patient clinic work. We welcome a candidate with an interest in ILD or sleep and ventilation but other sub-specialty interests will be considered and accommodated if possible.
The chest department is part of Medical and Emergency Care Division. The Consultants in the Respiratory department are not on the General Medical rota but run a weekend ward cover service. The advertised post does not currently have any on-call / OOH commitments but this can be re-visited depending on individual candidate needs and the departments requirements.
The post holder is expected to be able to manage Respiratory patients both as Inpatients and Outpatients. The post holder will be integrated into our Respiratory Team roster for ward and in addition to general respiratory clinics (and speciality clinics depending on the successful candidates interests).
Our subspecialty clinics include, ILD, asthma, sleep & ventilation, TB, pleural and lung cancer.
We have a large Sleep and Ventilation service including domiciliary ventilation, supported by an experienced physiologist and CNS team. We run monthly ILD MDMs linked in with the Guys and St Thomas ILD service and have a dedicated ILD Pharmacist supporting the team.
Secretarial support and an adequately equipped office will be provided including IT facilities.
