We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to become an Physiotherapist.

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic about the profession and will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role of an Physiotherapist through experience.

This role allows the apprentice to develop their core clinical skills as part of the Physiotherapy apprenticeship programme. The apprenticeship levy will be used to provide a training opportunity for the post holder to undertake a three years and four months level 6 BSc.

The successful applicant would be offered the post subject to being accepted onto the University of East London (UEL) Physiotherapy degree program commencing September 2024 until completion in August 2027.

We will provide a work placed mentor to provide guidance, support, and knowledge in the Physiotherapy profession.

Following successful completion of the apprenticeship programme and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Physiotherapist, you will become a Band 5 Physio,where the attached/below Job Description will apply.

Failure to complete the apprenticeship course will lead to termination of the Apprentice Physiotherapy contract and you will not be eligible for a qualified Physiotherapist post.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be employed in their substantive post as an Apprentice Physiotherapist as a part of our lovely and friendly Therapy Team.

The apprenticeship involves receiving on the job training in their substantive roles and 20% off the job training at UEL. Off the job training will include a combination of academic study and clinical placements. It is a requirement that the post holder commits to undertake the formal education of the course and successfully complete all components of the training programme within the required period. During the apprenticeship programme the post holder will perform the duties and responsibilities in this job description as a learner and under the direct and/or indirect supervision of a registered practitioner. The post holder will be proactive in seeking opportunities to develop their own knowledge and skills and are also expected to seek support and guidance in a timely manner if any difficulties are encountered.

An Apprentice Physiotherapist uses their developing Physiotherapy knowledge and skills to:

Prioritise, plan, and deliver clinical case work within each therapy team according to our rotations with support and supervision of a registered therapist.

Apply evidence based, knowledge and skills to the Physiotherapy Team and wider Therapy Team.
