Contract: 6 Months Fixed Term/Secondment

Main duties of the job
The Procurement Department at Medway is a very close knit team of 24, we work in a very friendly and professional manner and all support one another to deliver the departments objectives.
The procurement function covers aspects such strategic procurement, materials management, stores and distribution and covers not only the main hospital but clinics and surgeries in our local community.

Job responsibilities
To be responsible for the successful management of the relationship between wards/ departments nursing staff and the Materials Management function by liaising on a regular basis to identify and resolve stock issues
To provide assistance, guidance and advice on stock levels, product range and stock management procedures to ward/ department managers, clinical and support staff, and provide monthly usage reports obtained from the NHSSC web site
To review stock levels on each ward/department on a weekly basis and initiate the accurate and timely replenishment of stocks using the Trusts inventory management system
To check for accuracy, unpack and put away the weekly/daily stock replenishment orders
To review and resolve all discrepancies concerning stock by liaising with customers and external suppliers as appropriate. To advise on appropriate action for uplifts and return policies and to implement as necessary
To facilitate in the Trust wide year-end stock valuation. To undertake the stock counting process to ensure conformance to the Trust Standing Financial Instruction. To review the ward valuation figures and investigate and resolve any discrepancies or errors
