Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the full project life cycle and will take day to day responsibility for supporting all projects delivery at each stage, from inception of each project to post project evaluation. The prime responsibility is to ensure that all projects deliver the required outcomes to the required quality within the constraints of time and cost.
The post holder will be responsible for the successful delivery of the Targeted Lung Health Check program at Medway. The role requires extensive project management skills to lead the development, management and implementation of a wide portfolio of schemes. The role will primarily focus on demand and capacity reviews of various clinical teams within the division in order to inform establishment setting and business planning.

The post holder will work closely with the divisional, care group and speciality leads and the Workforce Team, leading the implementation of a full programme of work in order to successfully implement the Targeted Lug Health Checks. The programme of work involves working across divisions, organisations and may require the solving of complex technical issues in order to enable the transformation, clinical and administrative processes. There will be lots of independent working with no line management responsibility.
The post holder will be responsible for managing the implementation of evidence-based Targeted Lung Health Check Program. The post holder will be experienced in understanding and clarifying clinical pathways, undertaking demand and capacity reviews within an NHS setting and able to apply industry standard project management skills and methodologies.
In addition, the post holder will need exceptional communication and negotiation skills to quickly develop good working relationships with the relevant teams, suppliers, third party suppliers, senior Trust staff and other key stakeholders.
Lead and manage the successful implementation of Targeted Lung Health Check Program, within the programme timescale of 2 years using PRINCE 2 and MFT methodologies
Fully participate as a member of the divisional and workforce teams in managing and co-ordinating a significant number of activities and tasks associated with this project.
Responsible for the day to day management of individual projects / work streams and provide project management support to the General Manager for Cancer & Access
Manage those supporting the project to ensure that all deliverables are fit for purpose, integrated effectively and implemented on time;
Manage the dependencies and interfaces between projects to ensure their successful delivery in line with strategic objectives;
Use conflict resolution strategies in response to barriers of understanding or acceptance faced by or from the application teams and/or wider Trust audience;
Apply expert technical knowledge and operational experience to the deployment of demand/capacity and establishment setting solutions, whilst ensuring that all IG requirements are met;
Manage relationships by establishing robust communications channels with clinical services to ensure timely delivery and fit for purpose establishment requirements
Ensure that all programme documentation is fit for purpose, accepted and retained in line with required processes;
Handle project and work stream risks and issues, assisting in mitigating them as far as possible and escalating them to the divisional leadership team as required;
Interpret highly complex information to inform key decisions that ensure the integrity and delivery of tasks and project work within the Programme meets its set deadline;
Produce and maintain the formal programme documentation required throughout the project lifecycle including the production of Board level reports, plans, policies and procedures
Develop and maintain strong communications links with key stakeholders, including divisional, care group and departmental leadership teams, conveying complex issues and facilitating desired outcomes with the Divisional Director of AHP and Nursing
Work flexibly to ensure the programme delivers a high quality patient focused service;
Act as an ambassador for the Trust at all times;
Identify the impact and support the operational change management resulting from the implementation of establishment setting across the division;
Provide direct line management responsibility for substantive and project staff in line with Trust policies and best practice;
Use highly developed leadership and influencing skills with the ability to enthuse, motivate and involve individuals and teams across the Trust, such that they understand and work to achieve the Trusts performance expectations
Manage the process of identifying and updating the interdependencies between programmes and projects
Support development of business cases to access funding opportunities where appropriate.
