Such Band 5 radiographers will have to demonstrate rotational experience within CT and at least 12 months of post qualification experience
To assist with scanning capacity, Medway has two Community Diagnostic Centre's (CDCs) in development which all staff will be required to rotate across (expected for April/May 2024).It is intended that the CDC's will take some of the outpatient demand away from the main hospital and we hope to develop services such as virtual colonoscopy and a cardiologist led coronary scanning programme in place of the CDC patients.

We are a busy department scanning in excess of 40,000 patients per year from the following pathways: GPs; outpatients; inpatients and A&E.
As a CT Radiographer, you will ensure that you work under your own initiative but is vital you can work well within a team too. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient service for patients including the management and prioritisation of outstanding scans. You will also be responsible for the training of junior staff and students.
In addition to possessing excellent scanning skills for the full range of scans, you will be expected to recognise pathologies on your scans which may change the referral pathway of the patient depending upon the urgency of the finding.
Cannulation skills are desirable, as it speeds up your contribution to the department, but in-house training can be completed and competencies assessed by the senior staff members.
The role will require the post holder to carry out shifts to enable us to provide a 24 hour, 7 day service to a high standard inclusive of night shifts.
The department readily encourages CPD activities and there will be the opportunity to rotate through other modalities.
We are committed to endorsing diversity, multiculturalism, and inclusion; our policies / procedures ensure that all applicants are treated fairly at every stage of the recruitment process.
To contribute to our exciting future and become part of our team, apply today.
