Job Title: Team Lead Physiotherapist - Respiratory Support Unit (RSU)
Division: Cancer and Clinical Support Services
Care Group: Therapies
Band: 7
Salary: £43,742 - £50,056 per annum
We are recruiting for a Team Lead Respiratory Support Unit (RSU) Physiotherapist, who shares our ambition and vision to deliver theBest of Care by the Best Peopleand has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
An RSU is an area of enhanced care that enables a higher level of monitoring and respiratory intervention than would be expected for a routine ward environment. Patients suitable for management in an RSU are those needing more monitoring and/or intervention than can typically be provided in a ward, but do not currently require critical care. While RSUs have emerged due to the need to provide high quality acute NIV, there is a wider patient group likely to benefit.
Working in a newly opened RSU, it will involve assessing, managing and treating patients with complex respiratory and medical needs and the development of respiratory pathways throughout the Trust.
As a team lead, you will be expected to manage your team and support in the development of your service and that of your team.
To be on call competent and participate in the emergency on call rota. As a team lead on the RSU, you would be expected to participate in the delivery of on-call teaching.
Main duties of the job
Delivering high quality care, assessment and treatment of patients in the Respiratory Support Unit (RSU) and likely management of patients across critical care areas and ward outliers, who may benefit from further respiratory interventions.
Leading a team, with the support of senior Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
Active participation in the emergency on call rota.
Supervising team members clinically and in 1:1 supervision sessions.
Management of students on placement.
Department and team/service development.
