Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician

We are seeking an experienced electrician to join our busy maintenance team. The role will comprise a mixture of planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and minor works across the hospital site's high and low voltage systems, electrical equipment and installations.
Over time you will receive additional training and gain experience in maintaining a wide range of equipment and infrastructure as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Healthcare experience is not essential, but experience of working with large complex installations in commercial or residential facilities would be an advantage.
The hospital is about to commence a significant investment programme to decarbonise the estate by moving to photovoltaic and heat pump technologies, providing an excellent opportunity to develop new skills in these emerging fields.
Main duties of the job
To maintain mechanical engineering systems, plant, equipment and associated systems in order to ensure their safe operation, serviceability and compliance with statutory regulations.
To support and deputise for the local Team Leader when required, to support colleagues and Facilities Managers and to assist in the smooth running of the Maintenance Team and Department.

Provision of a high quality and effective maintenance service on all engineering plant, systems, equipment and the completion and rectification of planned and reactive maintenance works in line with the Service Specification response times and estimated times programmed within the PPM system.
Completion of all designated maintenance tasks in line with statutory requirements, and to a high standard, which is acceptable to the Client Trusts.
Reconciliation of completed planned and reactive work into the PPM system in an accurate and timely manner through either a paper based works docket system and/or an electronic personal device application (PDA) system.
Provision of support and advice on improvements to existing installations and associated equipment and also in terms of enhancement of working practices.
Provision of a deputising role in support of Team Leaders. This may require participation in meetings, communication with Contractors and advice on site arrangements and engineering systems issues in relation to surveys by external agencies and surveyors.
Provision of assistance for colleagues and line management in the event of significant events where additional maintenance attendance is required.
