We are recruiting for a ED Administration Clerkwho shares our ambition and vision to deliver theBest of Care by the Best Peopleand has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
To provide a reception service and administrative support to the staff and patients of Medway Emergency Department.
Main duties of the job
To answer general telephone enquiries and refer medical problems to the appropriate trained staff To maintain strict confidentiality at all times and handle sensitive information both verbal and physical in a mature manner and in line with organisational policy
To undertake any other administrative or clerical duties as requested by the line manager or Divisional Operational Manager

Job responsibilities
To book in all patients on arrival into the Emergency Department using the computer system, assuring accuracy of data, working within the boundaries of the Standard Operational Practice
Verify known patient details, amend and update demographic details and clinical Information where necessary in either the Reception area, Emergency Treatment Unit, Majors, Resus or RAU areas of the Emergency Department
To input data on current IT system to ensure attendance figures are accurately inputted
Locate patient notes as required and to update and maintain effective case note tracking using the PAS system/ Sunrise EPR when applicable
To accurately enter and extract data from our software system as appropriate and maintain filing systems in line with organisational Policies and Procedures.
File Emergency Department notes, using the electronic filing system, along with all associated patient correspondence pertaining to their episode of care and treatment

To filter positive x-ray reports for Consultants
