We are recruiting for an enthusiastic Ward Manager for Wakeley Ward, who shares our ambition and vision to deliver theBest of Care by the Best Peopleand has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the effective and efficient operational management of the department. This includes budget control, clinical governance, staff development and training.
The post holder will be expected to provide professional leadership within the clinical area and provide direction and inspirational leadership to all members of the multi-disciplinary team within the area for which they are accountable for.
The post holder will be involved in the development of policies, protocols / guidelines and patient information. This is a great opportunity to work with us on this journey of providing 'Patient First' excellence in Care and ensuring positive Patient Experience in Specialist Medicine.

Essential
- RN1/RN2/RN12 or RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC register. To hold the appropriate level for the area of speciality
- Master's degree or on pathway actively working towards
- Mentorship / teaching qualification
Knowledge
Essential
- Up to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issue
- Knowledge of evidence based practice
- An understanding of audit and research based nursing practice
Experience
Essential
- Proven experience on managing a ward; including management of rotas, managing competencies, resources and staff
- Experience of administering intravenous drug therapy
- Experience of teaching / assessing / supervising others in a clinical setting
Skills

- The ability to undertake reflective thinking on own practice
- Able to effectively present information to groups and professional teams Is able to manage staffing and supply budgets effectively
