We have an opportunity for a knowledgeable Paediatric Dietitian to inspire and lead the Paediatric service at Medway Hospital. This is an exciting time to join Medway NHS Foundation Trust during a period of transformation and improving clinical services, where the Trust is investing in nutrition as a priority.
Main duties of the job
The successful postholder will be working within the paediatric multi-disciplinary team to provide a clinical service to paediatric inpatients, neonatal unit and clinics including PAU, cystic fibrosis and allergy.
Close links have been developed with physiotherapy, occupational therapy to enhance the profile of allied health professionals.
The role involves teaching sessions (formally and informally) including nurses and doctors. The role will include clinical and service leadership within paediatrics and the wider dietetic team.
In addition you will have the support of a very collaborative, fun and engaged dietetic team and therapies department, to develop and implement an advanced paediatric service.
The role is flexible for the postholder to develop in the direction they feel is appropriate for the trust and service.

This is an opportunity for an expert autonomous Dietitian to plan, develop and contribute to the delivery and service improvement of the paediatric nutrition and dietetic service provided to Medway NHS Foundation Trust.
To be responsible for providing and running the expert dietetic care for paediatric inpatients on the acute paediatric wards and outpatient clinics
To develop and review standards, policies, resources and other improvement activities relating to the specialist services associated within paediatrics, within the Dietetic profession and across the Trust.
To supervise and develop more junior staff
To take a leading role in carrying out specialist assessments, evidence-based treatment and management of paediatric patients who may present with complex and /or chronic health needs that require specialist support and advice.
