We are recruiting for a Clinical Pharmacy Technician who share our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and have the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.

Main duties of the job

We are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic pharmacy technician to join our Trust clinical pharmacy team. The post includes the provision of clinical ward based services, .

This is an exciting opportunity for a Technician to join our dynamic, innovative and friendly team dedicated to working at ward level providing ward based clinical pharmacy services . We are looking for someone with experience and a passion in this area of work in hospital pharmacy. You must be an enthusiastic, motivated and a patient orientated technician dedicated to patient safety.

The post holder will be educated to NVQ level 3 in pharmacy services, BTEC (or equivalent) in pharmaceutical sciences and BTEC Accuracy Checking qualification. Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council is essential.

The post holder will work at an enhanced level providing a 7 day clinical service on the wards and deliver quality care to patients at ward level through efficient medicines optimisation.

This will include the assessment of patients own drugs, medicine reconciliation, and discharge planning, counselling patients about their medicines and coordinating the supply of discharge medication to ensure patient flow throughout the hospital.

The role will involve being a Practice/Educational supervisor, Line management and leadership and will also involve taking responsibility for a defined area of service delivery.

The role will also involve dispensary based responsibilities which will involve working as an accredited checking Technician.
