Main duties of the job
This is an exciting role within the Trust that will make a real difference to suspected and confirmed cancer patients. Excellent organisational skills will be required to ensure that patients are tracked and their progress is monitored. This will be undertaken by using a variety of hospital electronic data systems.
The successful candidate must be able todemonstrate attention to detail and have a thorough and methodical approach to their workloads.

The post holder will be working in a Multi-Disciplinary Team environment, therefore must have excellent communication skills as they will be required to liaise with teams within Medway NHS Foundation Trust and other hospital sites.
Each tumour site specific Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) is responsible for the discussion and agreement of individual patients diagnosis and treatment plans.
The fundamental role of the MDT co-ordinator is to ensure that all cancer patients are discussed. Making sure that all relevant information is available and the recording of information relating to the meetings and to the individual patient occurs.
Specific responsibility for the monitoring of Cancer Waiting Times (CWT) targets.
To ensure the accurate and timely collection, input and production of required data items for tumour specific datasets to provide accurate MDT minutes and Priority Target Lists. Contribution to the peer review process and service improvement.
