Job description

Job responsibilities

Lead and manage the successful implementation of complex project/workstreams with particular reference to the implementation of the Programmes technical workstream, within the programme timescales and affecting all Trust staff, using PRINCE 2 and MFT methodologies.

Identify, build and manage large multifunctional teams including technical staff with a specific focus on configuration, change/transformation, training, testing, complex interfacing/integration requirements, technical infrastructure, the roll out hardware, through to information and analytics in line with Trust procedures, processes and best practices.

Fully participate as a member of the EPR Programme team in managing and co-ordinating a significant number of PMO activities and tasks.

Responsible for the day to day management of individual projects / work streams and provide project management support to the Programme Director, Workstream Leads PMO.

Manage the Programmes Workstream Leads to ensure that all deliveries are fit for purpose, integrated effectively and implemented on time.

Manage the dependencies and interfaces between projects to ensure their successful delivery in line with strategic objectives.

Use conflict resolution strategies in response to barriers of understanding or acceptance faced by or from the application teams and/or wider Trust audience.

Apply expert Technical knowledge and operational experience to the deployment of IT solutions.

Work with the Testing Lead to ensure designated technical teams understand and comply with robust testing of the technical solutions in accordance with approved testing methodologies and working closely with the EPR programme workstreams and other suppliers.

Lead technical IT based investigations and impact assessments on supplier products.

Manage supplier relationships by establishing robust communications channels with supplier project managers to ensure timely product delivery and fit for purpose criteria.

Ensure that all programme documentation is fit for purpose, accepted and retained in line with EPR Programme Office processes.

Handle programme and works stream risks and issues, assisting in mitigating them as far as possible and escalating them to the EPR Programme Board as required.

Interpret highly complex information and make strategic decisions to ensure the integrity and delivery of tasks and project work within the EPR Programme meets its set deadline.

Provide professional senior project management to the Trust to assist departments with the delivery of the EPR application, systems and technology solutions that realise the EPR benefits for patients and the Trust.

Produce and maintain the formal programme documentation required throughout the project lifecycle including the production of Board level reports, plans, policies and procedures.

Develop and maintain strong communications links with key stakeholders, including Programme Boards, conveying complex issues and negotiating desired outcomes.

Work flexibly as a member of the EPR management team to ensure the programme delivers a high quality patient focused service.

Act as an ambassador for the Trusts EPR Programme at all times.

Identify the impact and support the operational change management resulting from the implementation of the new EPR application across the Trust.

Provide direct line management responsibility for substantive and project staff in line with Trust policies and best practice.

Postholder will have responsibility for signing off team timesheets and expenses, and approval of 3rd party services being receipted.
