Main duties of the job

The role will provide you the opportunity to work with a wide range of professionals and partners across the organisation and external partners. The post holder will play a key role in how the Trust listens and learns from the people of Medway, and support the PALS team in the daily management of concerns and listening to the experience of Medway residents.

You'll be proactive and positive; have a proven track record of quality improvement, display excellent communication skills, be passionate about making a difference to both patients and staff and be able to evidence involvement in high impact change and delivery of key outcomes.

Provide strategic leadership, expert advice and support for a programme of work designed to promote, maintain and improve patient experience across the Trust.

Work closely with the Divisional and Care Group teams, to develop service improvement. With the Deputy Chief Nursing Officer, they will have a key responsibility for the delivery of a Patient Experience Strategy throughout the Trust and will develop innovative practice in relation to the provision of high quality person centred services to patients, their families and carers.

Work with national patient experience networks, other Trusts, both acute and mental health, voluntary and community organisations, commissioners and NHS England to ensure that staff improves patient experience through safe high quality care with particular reference to the involvement and engagement of patients.

Work closely with the Communications and Engagement Officer who has responsibility for Stakeholder and Community involvement. It will be important to ensure the Patient Experience Strategy and the Trusts Community Engagement strategy (delivered by the Director for Communications and Engagement) are aligned for a consistent approach in engaging and involving staff, patients, public, stakeholders, the voluntary sector and community groups.

Provide leadership to health professionals on the work streams related to patient experience, the Patient Voice and engagement and improvement initiatives related to this.
