Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for leading the strategic direction of the organisations security management with a dedicated security team providing excellence in security management standards, including car parking enforcement.
You will have overall responsibility for the management, monitoring and co-ordination of the security service provided by Medway NHS Foundation. As the competent person for security, the post holder will be the on-site expert in security matters and accountable to the Board via the Security Management Director.
The post holder will act as the competent person for the Trust by advising and monitoring of security incidents and will investigate all aspects of crime and report these where appropriate to the relevant statutory body.

The post holder will be working in a multidisciplinary team covering fire safety, health and safety, moving and handling as well as security, and will be expected to provide cover for other colleagues during periods of annual leave and sickness.
Lead the security staff in the provision of a high quality service by providing expert knowledge, direction and advice on practical applications and measuring performance via agreed KPIs.
Act as the Trusts competent person for security, ensuring a Pro-Security culture is delivered including deterrence, prevention, detection, investigation, sanctions and redress, with emphasis on tackling violence and aggression, protection of assets, security of drugs and hazardous materials, and protection of maternity & paediatric units.
Interpret professional guidelines and through practical application initiate, develop and ensure policies are implemented across the Trust to ensure enhanced security of all individuals and Trust property. Ensure work is carried out in a professional and ethical manner.
Continually critically evaluate security systems to ensure security is not compromised given the constantly changing and developing environment.
