Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative, enthusiastic & experienced Secretary or experienced administrator to join our highly regarded Perinatal Mental Health Service at either Boston or Lincoln sites.

Our Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Team supports new Mums and Mum's to be, who are experiencing severe to moderate Mental health problems during the Perinatal period. In addition to this we also offer preconception for those who have a severe mental illness & are considering planning a pregnancy.

The post holder will work with an established perinatal team, founded in 2015, the team is fully multi-disciplinary including, nursing, pharmacy, social work, Occupational therapy, admin, nursery nurse, peer support, psychology & medic input.

As a team we are continuing to grow with the NHS long term plan and expansion of the team & this includes the Maternal Mental health service.

The team secretary will be joining a team of Team secretaries within the Perinatal service & the ability to work as a team is essential.

Previous experience as a secretary or administrator within the NHS would be advantageous.

The Perinatal Team is a very busy team & the ability to manage time & work independently under time pressures is essential. The ability to type & produce comprehensive clinical letters in a very short period is one of the main responsibilities of the post.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide full secretarial service to the eprinatal team. Be responsible for managing and booking patients appointments & speaking to patients & their families as well as Health professionals including GP'S, Midwives & Health Visitors.

The ability to have a calm, kind, friendly & compassionate manner is essential when talking with potentially distressed & unwell patients & their families over the telephone.

The ability to type in a timely manner under limited time constraints is necessary.

Excellent telephone manner is essential to the role, a large part of the role is answering calls to Patients, families & health professionals and re directing calls & taking specific information.

Experience & confidence in using Word, Power point, Excel & NHS systems, particularly the use of NHS Spine, Rio Clinical system.
