Job summary
Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing and Professions, you will provide leadership and strategic direction for AHPs (as defined by the HCPC), developing and implementing standards across the Trust which support professional development and leadership, competence, capacity and standards of conduct leading to safe, high quality, efficient patient care.Professional leadership will involve providing advice and consultation to the clinical Divisions on how best to ensure the AHP workforce is utilised across Trust services. The role will provide senior leadership and clinical experience / expertise and support, to AHPs and AHP Support Staff; so they remain highly motivated, resilient and well-equipped to provide excellent care.
Please note that a Fixed Term or Secondment would also be considered.
Main duties of the job
The role will be responsible for horizon scanning relevant national / local / system policy, legislation, reports etc. relevant to AHP practice to ensure preparedness for and implementation of any required developments / changes; and provide the Chief Nurse / Director of Nursing and Professions with appropriate briefings.
The role has responsibility across both the clinical and corporate divisions, ensuring the responsibilities of the Director of Nursing and Professions, are supported; and key external relationships are maintained and developed with other partners in the health and social care community in delivering community-wide objectives as required.

- Registered with an AHP profession specific professional college/society
