Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a clinical pharmacist to join our successful mental health team at Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, working across Lincolnshire. As an early Intervention in psychosis pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in both clinical and operational aspects of patient care within the Trusts EIP service. You will practice as a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber, initiating, prescribing, and reviewing medications in accordance with established clinical guidelines, legislation, evidence-based practices, and your scope of practice.

The team provides a comprehensive clinical service across the trust, and you will use your experience, skills, and initiative to develop, coordinate and provide a high-quality clinical pharmacy service to patients and their carers.

Main duties of the job

The main responsibilities of this position include:

o Supporting assessments to help meet the access standards as part of the MDT;

o Initiation of medication through meaningful shared decision making;

o Review response, side effects and potential stopping of medication;

o Identify side effects quickly to reduce time to initiate clozapine; and

o Patient visits with consultants for the provision of expert advice in pharmacotherapy and timely access to medication reviews.

Assistance in:

o Contributing to service development initiatives,

o Mentoring post-registration pharmacists,

o Participating in the training of healthcare professionals.

o Supporting pharmacy service areas within the department.

  • Sufficient number of years post-registration experience as a practising pharmacist.
  • Sufficient experience of working in a mental health setting
  • Experience in audit, project or research facilitation or management.
  • Experience of established multidisciplinary team working.
  • Experience of service planning or development.
  • Experience of providing patient information and therapeutic engagement with patients and carers
  • Experience of teaching and training HCPs at a range of levels (undergraduate and postgraduate).
  • Experience of managing unpredictable work patterns and to effectively manage situations where concentration may be frequently interrupted.

  • Experience with working with EIP services
