As Head of Estates and Facilities, you'll play a crucial role in leading our estates delivery team. Responsible for developing and implementing innovative ways of working to ensure our estate is safe, compliant, and effectively utilised. Your leadership will be key in making the best use of our resources and supporting our mission to provide outstanding mental health services.

Main duties of the job
The Head of Estates and Facilities leads delivery of estates and facilities management to ensure an effective, efficient and value for money estates and facilities service.
They contribute to the efficient and effective provision of healthcare services and ensure best use of resources through management of in-house and third-party teams. They lead delivery of estates and facilities services to provide a safe, compliant, and effective built environment at optimum cost, operating within policy guidelines and in accordance with Trust Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions.
They are responsible for the development and progression of the estates delivery team within the Trust and liaise effectively with colleagues across the organisation.

Specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and practice. M&E and building knowledge; including legislation, best practice, and working knowledge.
Develops and implements Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and leases arrangements with all Care Groups; providing installation, maintenance, and repair related services to the Trust, to ensure that Service User repair requests are responded to in priority order and in accordance with the agreed standards for Estates responses to emergency, urgent and routine job requests.
Assist the Director of Estates and Sustainability in ensuring a cost-effective and efficient engineering and building maintenance service is provided.
Establishes annual budget requirements incorporating any cost improvement targets in association with the Finance team and applies suitable expenditure monitoring and budgetary control measures to ensure that the Operations and Maintenance function operates within its allocated budget and advises the Director of Estates and Sustainability of any risks to achievement of the Departments financial targets.
Continually reviews the performance of the maintenance team, in terms of productivity and customer service, as measured for example by job completion rates, evaluating, and where appropriate, implementing new ways of working to enhance performance.
Develops asset replacement/refurbishment programmes based on the data obtained from the six-facet estate surveys for the buildings, plant, and equipment, aligned to the Trusts overall Estates Strategy to smooth out annual investment requirements, and to avoid unplanned breakdowns.
Arranges periodic condition assessments and surveys and uses the resulting data to establish appropriate capital and revenue programmes of work to address any backlog maintenance items identified and to ensure that the physical environment of the estate is well maintained; within the available budget, fit for purpose, available for its intended use and provides the best possible patient experience.
Write and review policies acting on all relevant statutory guidance, incorporating into maintenance and new work activities.
Responsible for the production and dissemination of benchmarking, key performance indicator information via the Departments Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems, to all interested parties, as an aid to continuous performance improvement.
Exchange of complex information with contractors, suppliers, and consultants on technical issues Trust-wide.
Lead on the Estates regulatory audits and key objectives such as PAM, ERIC, CIPs, STPs, Sustainable and Environmental initiatives.
Write and input into papers for Trust meetings up to board level.
