Job summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior EMHP to join our new Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in the Louth area. This is a unique opportunity to shape and lead a service dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of children and young people within education settings.Key Responsibilities:

Leadership: Provide supervision and support to EMHPs, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care.

Service Development: Drive the implementation and evaluation of mental health programs in schools, aligning with local and national priorities.

Direct Interventions: Deliver targeted therapeutic interventions for children and young people, addressing low to moderate mental health issues using approaches like CBT.

Training & Education: Facilitate training sessions for school staff and parents to boost mental health awareness and effective support strategies.

Consultation: Serve as the primary contact between schools, health services, and external agencies, offering expert guidance and fostering collaboration.

Requirements:

Qualified EMHP with extensive mental health experience.

Proven ability to supervise and lead a team.

Strong understanding of safeguarding and multi-agency working.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Education Mental Health Practitioner (registered EMHP) plays a pivotal role in supporting the mental health and well-being of children and young people within educational settings. The key duties include:

Supervision and Leadership: Providing management and clinical supervision to EMHPs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based interventions, upholding safeguarding procedures

Service Development: Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of mental health initiatives within schools, aligning with local and national policies.

Direct Intervention: Delivering targeted therapeutic interventions to children, young people, and families, focusing on low to moderate mental health issues, using approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and other evidence-based practices.

Training and Education: Designing and delivering training sessions for school staff, parents, and other stakeholders on mental health awareness and strategies to support students' well-being.

Consultation and Liaison: Acting as a key point of contact between schools, health services, and external agencies, providing expert advice on mental health issues and facilitating effective communication and collaboration.

Monitoring and Evaluation: Overseeing the collection and analysis of data to measure the effectiveness of interventions and services, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.
