Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Digital Systems and EPR (Electronic Patient Record) Development Team to work as an EPR Development Officer. The post involves working closely with Business Managers, Service Managers and staff of all levels across the Trust and therefore this is a great opportunity to learn about the development of our main EPR system, Rio, and learn about how operational teams collate patient data on a daily basis.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who can also demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills as the post has responsibilities for providing advice, support and training to staff as well as the skills required to create considered assessment forms and letter templates that operational staff will use on a daily basis when interacting with patients.
The ideal candidate will have good problem solving, planning, organisational and communication skills, possess a flexible and comprehensive range of IT development skills to produce EPR assessment forms, letters and templates, documentation and guidance and conduct individual or group meetings with a variety of different clinical and non- clinical services to meet the differing requirements of the end user.
An understanding of the patient and service journey through various bespoke process maps and pathways would be advantageous as well as a basic understanding of SQL and HTML.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work within the EPR Development Team primarily developing Forms and automated Letters and support staff in their use. Providing advice and guidance on how best to capture the data required for their service.
The successful candidate will:
Create bespoke forms to assist with data capture within the electronic patient record systems.
Create automated letters using SQL with assistance from the clinical report developer.
Act as a point of reference for all EPR projects.
Manage copyright licences for forms held within the electronic patient record.
Attend meetings with operational staff to gather team requirements for upcoming developments.
Work under their own initiative and escalate issues to their manager as required.
Produce all the relevant documentation in line with the Trust guidelines.
Follow change management processes inline with the Trust guidelines.
Liaise with systems suppliers regarding faults and functionality.
Collaborate with the wider informatics team about new developments, ensuring service specifications are met.

To support the Data Warehouse Colleagues in leading change processes across the delivery of Information services
