Job summary

An exciting opportunity has become available across our CAMHS Urgent care Service.

CAMHS urgent care covers our CCETT North, CCETT South and CAMHS Eating Disorder service.

Our CAMHS Crisis and Enhanced Treatment Team (CCETT) provides crisis interventions to children and young people alongside intensive community treatment to young people experiencing an acute episode of mental health distress, in addition, the service aims to prevent admissions to out of area Tier 4 inpatient beds. Our CAMHS Eating disorder Service provides assessment and intervention within a stepped care approach for children and young people with an eating disorder - anorexia nervosa, bulimia, binge eating and atypical eating disorders.

Within the teams we also utilise animal assisted therapy (AAT) and have established therapy dogs across urgent care.

We are now looking for 2 x full time (37.5hrs) / part time hours will be considered) Band 3 parent / carer support workers. You will have the option of preferred base, Lincoln, Boston, or Grantham.

This role will cover county wide therefore you must have the ability to travel.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for compassionate, highly motivated individuals to join our well-established service. We have several disciplines of practitioners within the service and multi-disciplinary team who all work closely together.

Your role, with the support of our registered Practitioners, will be supporting our Parents and Carers of the young people who are open across Urgent care.

This can be a very distressing time for our Parent/ Carers at this time; having lived experience of being in these circumstances is preferable. You will provide support in them accessing local resources and self-help material that will assist in supporting recovery. You will also be involved in the developing and co- facilitating of our parent carer groups.

The successful applicants will be expected to work a shift pattern on a Rota basis covering 7 days per week: 08:45-19:00hrs.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Satisfactory level of Secondary education to GCSE English A-C grade or 9-4 grade or equivalent (may be working toward this).
  • Be able to demonstrate a good standard of English.
  • Willingness to undertake further training to support development of peer support role, and child and young person's involvement
  • NVQ 3 in Care or equivalent

Desirable

  • Training in mental health awareness or any other training relevant to this post.
