The Fens provides assessment and intervention for men with severe and enduring mental ill-health in a locked environment to support their ongoing recovery and social integration. The whole service is focused on working towards independence and recovery to enable service users to regain health and mental wellness in order to live well in the community.

The Fens are seeking to recruit a dynamic Staff Nurse to join their developing team in their 15 bedded male high dependency rehabilitation unit In Discovery House. Applications are invited from highly motivated and dynamic candidates with a 'can do' attitude to deliver the Trust Vision and Values and help to improve our patient experience within rehabilitation services. This position will offer the successful candidate an exciting and challenging opportunity to work as part of a supportive team, focusing on delivering high standards of care through evidence based practice.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day to day management of the ward, monitoring and auditing ensuring the nursing team delivers high quality care to patients who access our service. Taking up name nurse responsibilities for patients during their time on the Fens, working collaboratively with members of the MDT and outside agencies like MOJ, Probation. In addition to this the candidate will be able to develop and create a culture that aspires to delivering best practice for individuals using our services and demonstrates effective communication and promotes a culture of transparency and equity within a diverse team

Implement a range of clinical skills in the assessment client risk. Construct client care plans and risk management plans based on their assessed needs. Perform nursing interventions advocated within the clients care plan. Recognise the contribution of others in the provision of client care. Involve clients and/or carers in the care panning and care delivery in a compassionate and appropriate manner which considers their diverse needs. Maintain the welfare and safety of clients and protect them from any form of abuse in accordance with safeguarding guidance. Monitor the impact and effectiveness of nursing care delivered and revise care plans as appropriate.
