Job summary

Fantastic opportunity to train as a Registered Mental Health Nurse - earn while you learn!!

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is a well-established, forward thinking organisation with a real vision for making a positive difference to people in our care, and support for its staff.

We are delighted to offer the opportunity to undertake a degree level apprenticeship to become a fully registered mental health nurse.

You will learn new skills, study a BSc Mental Health Nursing degree and develop as an individual, all whilst earning a salary. If you've recently studied psychology or health and social and are considering how you can start your career, then maybe mental health nursing is the pathway for you to follow.

The role will require a mixture of theoretical study at degree level, with attendance at the University of Lincoln and practice time within services. As an apprentice, it means you will be employed on a permanent contract, but to remain employed, you will successfully complete the nursing degree apprenticeship.

On completion of your degree studies, you will be a registered mental health nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and will be offered a registered nurse position within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

This is a developmental role and apprenticeship. The Apprentice will work towards progression into the post of Registered Nurse (Mental Health) through successful completion of BSc (Hons) Nursing with Registered Nurse (Mental Health). They will develop and maintain knowledge, skills and competencies related to the role of Registered Nurse (Mental Health) within the service and through completion of the BSc (Hons) Nursing (Mental Health).

The Registered Nurse (Mental Health) Apprenticeship combines and integrates both academic and work-based learning through close collaboration between employers and education providers.

At the end of the apprenticeship, the Registered Nurse (Mental Health) will be equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment as a Registered Nurse (Mental Health) and will work to a nationally recognised code of conduct.

The overall outcome from the Apprenticeship is a Registered Nurse (Mental Health) that is fit to practice in the range of settings appropriate to the Trust as well as being equipped with the specific knowledge, skills and capabilities required for the context in which they have trained and are employed.
