Job summary

Our Community Forensic Service, work with service users to support them to live their best lives in the community. We do this by providing specialist assessments and interventions for our patient group including those within the transforming care cohort.

Our Criminal Justice Liaison Diversion Service (CJLD) is intended to improve the health and justice outcomes for adults and children who encounter the youth and criminal justice systems where a range of complex needs are identified as factors in their offending behaviour.

We are now recruiting a Band 6 Social Worker who will be responsible for the provision of high quality multi-disciplinary care, using clinical expertise. You will share our Trust values and will be committed to providing care that is focused on recovery. This is a unique role offering the right candidate an opportunity work across our forensic and criminal justice pathways with opportunities to develop skills and knowledge working in the community and within custody suites and court settings. It will require someone who is able to adapt to working working within varied settings and is able to remain flexible and responsive to the needs of the service.

Whilst your base will be in Lincoln you will be required to work countywide therefore ability to travel is essential. The hours are Mon-Friday 9am-5pm however alternative hours and flexible working will be considered alongside service needs/demands.

Main duties of the job

We work with mentally disordered offenders who present a significant risk of harm to others by nature of their mental disorder, including those registered at MAPPA and those subject to conditional discharge under Part 3 of the Mental Health Act, Supervised Community Treatment Orders (CTO's) as well as those with complex needs/presentations. We also provide services to the transforming care cohort meeting the above criteria. You will act as a social supervisor requiring review of patient engagement in care and treatment plans in collaboration with the Responsible Clinician and allocated lead professional. You will be required to submit accurate and timely reports to MOJ within expected timescales.

CJLD is developed to be integrated with the whole range of justice and health, social and voluntary support agencies and take awareness of a range of inter-related projects and programmes and developing initiatives. You will work within the custody suites across Lincolnshire and the crown and magistrates' courts as well as in the community conducting comprehensive holistic assessments on Volunteer Attendee's if referred to the CJLD service by police officers. We are currently implementing additional pathways, MHTR and RECONNECT and there maybe an opportunity to provide input to these pathways.

Across the pathways you will act as a point of contact for providing specific social work advice, guidance and input for your colleagues and provide social work interventions as required.
