We have an exciting opportunity in our Lincolnshire County wide CAMHS Eating disorder service for a full time (37.5 hour) Band 6 Eating Disorder Nurse.
We are a highly specialised team providing psychotherapy for young people up to the age of 18 suffering from Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia, or Binge eating disorder.
As a service, working closely with Adult Eating Disorder services, we also provide the delivery of FREED (First Episode Rapid Early intervention for Eating Disorders) see https://freedfromed.co.uk.
Our team offers early specialist assessment and intervention using evidence-based approaches to young people; up to the age of 18 alongside their family/ carers. These interventions include FBT, CBT-E and Guided self Help.
The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to develop their skills, knowledge and gain experience in this specialist field and work alongside a knowledgeable, passionate, and dedicated MDT, who are all active in research, education, and training. Our team is made up of Psychiatry, Psychologists, Specialist Nurses, FREED Specialist/ clinical Lead and Support workers.
You will receive regular supervision; and will be actively encouraged and supported in continual professional development. Specialist training, learning, and teaching opportunities are encouraged and supported in this position
Main duties of the job
As a CAMH EDS Nurse you will work within a multidisciplinary team. You will be required to carry out thorough assessments of new referrals and have an active role in team discussions where the need for specialist treatment is decided.
You will hold and take responsibility for managing a clinical caseload of children and young people with complex needs. You will be provided with supervision in order to reflect upon your practice and further develop your skills.
You will evaluate the effectiveness of threatment offered and provide clinical data / outcome measures as required.
You will liaise with professionals from other services, offering support and guidance on how they can best manage the young persons needs.
In order to continually develop your knowledge and skills you will participate in a Professional Development Review, identifying your development needs and formulating a development plan with your line manager.
As students regularly attend this service, your role will involve the welcoming and supporting these students

Provide a high standard of specialist clinical care, within a discrete Community Eating Disorders Team, to children and young people with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia, Binge Eating and Atypical Eating Disorders using effective assessments, evidence based treatments via clinical pathways and comprehensive discharge planning using appropriate assessment tools.
Deliver evidence based psychological interventions for eating disorders.
Act as Care Coordinator under the CPA as required and manage a caseload as an autonomous practitioner.
Provide robust risk assessment and management plans, taking appropriate therapeutic risk.
Manage case-load and service delivery in accordance with, and in order to contribute towards the attainment of, the Service/Trust productivity requirements, including waiting times.
Monitor the effectiveness and side effects of prescribed medication and report appropriately, where required
Enable effective joint working and transitions with/to adult eating disorder services as
Provide rapid response, in line with service response times, according to urgency of need, working flexibly across the county from a designated base to ensure this, as required.
Provide home treatment as required.
Deliver care within an extended hours provision to support children/young people and their families and improve access to services.
Work collaboratively, and promote effective working relationships, with members of the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring effective clinical decision-making, internally and with external agencies.
Empower Service Users and their families/carers to influence and use available services, information and skills and act as an advocate where appropriate.
Participate in screening of referrals for appropriateness and onward signposting/referral as appropriate.
Work in accordance with relevant childcare, health legislation and professional standards in partnership with wider childrens services and to engage fully with Safeguarding, Common Assessment Framework and other processes which requires working together with other agencies
Proactively involve young people and families in service development including using service questionnaires to obtain structured feedback.
Provide a professional, non-stigmatising service to children and families.
Work closely with other colleagues within the service to enable effective transitions to and from other areas
Ensure best practice by incorporating NICE guidance and meeting healthcare standards
Adhere to Trust Policies in consideration of Children in Need and safeguarding issues and in maintaining accurate and effective written records.
To be able to travel independently and work flexibly across the county to support the service, from a designated base.
