Job summary
As a Peer support worker, you will need relevant background knowledge of working in health, voluntary or social care sector, but the most important knowledge you hold is your own personal experience of mental health challenges. It is your ability to use that experience in an effective way that underpins the support you deliver to those in the service.
The Peer Support Worker Coordinator role is a development opportunity for individuals with lived experience of mental health to contribute to the continued development of peer support within the adult community division.
The successful candidate will play a key part in engaging services both inside and outside of LPFT to promote the role as well as support current Peer Support Worker's and assist with the Peer Support Workers recruitment process.
Lived experience will aid with the co-production and co-delivery of specific courses around mental health and wellbeing as well as linking in directly with the Personality and Complex Trauma Team to aid with service development and delivery.

The teams are inclusive, caring and highly supportive of one another and keen to grow, in order to make a broader difference to the lives of the people who require mental health services.
Main duties of the job
The post holder to bring in their lived experience of mental health in order to take part in the co-development and co-delivery of LPFT Recovery College courses.
Post holder to co-produce and co-deliver Peer Support Worker courses.
70% of time spent working in the Recovery College and 30% of role directly supporting PACT service development and delivery.
Provide professional supervision to all B4 Senior Peer Support Workers within the Adult Community Division on a 1-1 basis and PACT's B3 Peer Support Workers.
Support the PACT leadership team in service development for personality and complex trauma pathways being in equal voice in coproduction of the service.
Support the service manager for the Recovery College and inclusion in the development of Peer Support Work across the division.
Coordinate the training for inpatient service, personality and complex trauma and other relevant services and promote their implementation.
