Job summary

We are an outstandingly well led (CQC) Trust committed to innovation and transformation, embarking on an exciting journey. To bolster our efforts, we are seeking two Consultants for two inpatient wards. The roles are based on Castle ward (female acute) and The Vales (female locked rehab), both in the beautiful, historic city of Lincoln. We are looking for consultants who are passionate about trauma informed care and those with particular interest in managing complex emotional needs.

We are interested in hearing from anyone who is interested in a flexible working pattern, which would include job share and part time, however, due to the nature of the role there is limited scope for remote working beyond SPA time.

Main duties of the job

For the Vales Ward role, the core job will be to act as the Responsible Clinician for The Vales (A 15-bed female Rehabilitation Ward) and 30-40% of the role will be to provide consultant support for the Trust's innovative Psychiatric Clinical Decisions Unit (PCDU).

For the Castle Ward role, the core job will be to act as Responsible Clinician for Castle Ward (A 18-bed female acute ward).

Both roles are based in Lincoln City, either at the St George's Hospital or Lincoln County Hospital sites

  • Full GMC registration with Specialist registration or a trainee within 6 months of completing their CCT
  • MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists
  • Section 12(2) approval, Approved Clinician status
  • Previous experience within a range of care settings in General Adult Psychiatry
  • Ability to commute effectively within the Trust's geographical area
  • Ability to fulfill all duties of the post including on call

Desirable

  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management
  • Experience of audit and understanding of clinical governance
  • Teaching Experience
  • The ability to find creative solutions to problems
  • Liase with colleagues on the management of complex clinical issues
