Job summary
This is a unique role within our Community Forensic Service offering the right candidate opportunities to be pivotal in transforming the pathways for our cohort of patients with Intellectual Disabilities and/or Autism. You will be involved in developing this part of our service and leading on the development of pathways as well as driving forward service developments.
You will be supported by a small and dedicated team of colleagues from across LPFT who all share the same vision and focus.
The post holder will be expected to work autonomously and provide clinical leadership to this part of the forensic team supporting the Team Manager. The individual well be expected to work closely with teams across the LPFT footprint, Lincolnshire County Council Social Work teams and other Mental Health Services/Specialist Providers to support discharge for forensic individuals in inpatient settings, provide intensive support in the community and reduce inappropriate admissions to hospital settings.
The post holder will be based in Lincoln but work across the county and will be expected to work flexibly Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am to 5pm. There may also be travel regionally as required to out of area provider placements.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will develop and provide a Clinical/Forensic Psychology provision to individuals with Intellectual Disability and/Autistic Individuals who fit the Transforming Care Programme as part of a funded parallel multi-disciplinary sub-team within an existing generic Community Forensic Service.
The role requires a high level of clinical and professional expertise in order that Individuals with Intellectual Disability and/or Autistic Individuals benefit from a well-coordinated pro-active, specialist, efficient and effective multi-disciplinary provision. The service includes providing wider development, clinical leadership, clinical team formulation, individual assessment, therapy and management, training, advice, and a consultative approach. The focus of all support and intervention is to adhere to the 'Building the Right Support' Principles for this cohort of individuals within the NHS Long Term Plan - maintaining and supporting individuals to live well in the community, by reducing inappropriate hospital admissions and working to prevent placement breakdowns.

- BPS accredited honours degree in Psychology
- A Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or Forensic Psychology accredited by the BPS or equivalent qualification
- Registered with HCPC as a practitioner psychologist
- Clinical supervision training for doctorate clinical psychology trainees or equivalent for forensic trainees
- Current registered member of HCPC
- Eligible for chartered status as a clinical psychologist
Desirable
- Additional training in Autism assessment
- Accredited in specific ID/Autism Training e.g. PBS trained, SPELL trained

- Extensive post-qualification experience of working as a specialist clinical or forensic psychologist with adults in forensic services, including those with intellectual and developmental disabilities
