Job summary

Brant Ward is an 18 bedded acute assessment ward for older adults experiencing complex mental health problems. We are within the Older Persons and Frailty division and we have been given the exciting opportunity to increase our establishment of nursing staff! We are recruiting Band 5 nurses and we want people who are passionate and driven to join our growing team who strive to deliver brilliant standards of care.

Brant Ward has embarked upon developing person centred, evidence-based practice ensuring that the patient is at the centre of all we do making this an ideal time to join our team. Brant Ward is a pivotal part of the acute care pathway working closely with our Home Treatment Team to ensure the highest quality care.

Main duties of the job

To be part of an integrated health/social care team providing inpatient care for service users suffering from serious and enduring mental illness.

Offering nursing interventions in a wide variety of clinical, therapeutic and social forms with the aim of promoting mental health well being, self autonomy and independence.

The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care, in liaison with the care team in the capacity of a mental health nurse

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day to day management of the ward, monitoring and auditing ensuring the nursing team delivers high quality care to patients who access our service.

Taking up name nurse responsibilities proudly for patients and working collaboratively with members of the MDT and outside agencies

  • Evidence of specialised continued professional training in clinical practice.
