Early Intervention in Psychosis Assessment Practitioner

Job summary

As an assessment practitioner within the service, you will lead on specialist assessments using the CAARMS (Comprehensive Assessment of At-Risk Mental State) tool, alongside providing specialised and tailored interventions as part of extended assessment periods. Your day to day duties will include:

  • Initial screening and leading on assessments using the CAARMS tool.
  • Liaison and collaborative working with referrers from all sectors including primary care, social care and inpatient teams to provide specialist assessment and advice.
  • To work as part of our integrated MDT, and to participate in a clinical decision-making process to determine the most appropriate pathway for all service users who are under the referred to the service.
  • Travel across Lincolnshire to support the needs of service users, their family members, and carers

Main duties of the job

We will provide additional training and support to contribute to the successful delivery of a high quality NICE concordant service. You will be accustomed to working both autonomously and collaboratively and ideally be confident working within the community. However, we also welcome applications from those seeking a move from inpatient settings to the community and will support the right applicant in transitioning to a community setting.

  • Registered healthcare professional (RMN, OT, SW) with current registration with NMC, HCPC or Social Work England

  • Mentorship Module or equivalent (degree level)

  • Substantial post registration experience of working with adults with severe and enduring psychosis.
  • Substantial experience of working in situations of crisis and emotionally demanding environments.
  • Substantial experience of undertaking assessments, focussed as personalisation, choice and control, and care planning
  • Experience of multidisciplinary working and ability to work collaborative
  • Sound knowledge of clinical/risk assessment and understanding of Information Governance principles.
