Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join the psychological provision of the Spalding Community Mental Health Team (part of the South CCG) in Lincolnshire. The Community Mental Health Team is located within the Adult Community Mental Health Division and our mission is to provide high quality psychological services to adults who live in Lincolnshire. You will be part of a vibrant and supportive team, with access to high quality CPD and professional and clinical supervision from a CBT supervisor and support from a Clinical Psychologist. Main duties of the job

To manage a caseload of clients within the psychological resource of the CMHT.

To meet appropriate standards of practice in the quality and timeliness of the service provided, to include meeting the standards defined by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and Lincolnshire NHS Partnership Foundation Trust and any other regulatory or professional body as appropriate.

To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for clients, carers, families and groups.

To provide guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to clients' formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.

To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients and to provide general advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management.

Be aware of, and keep up to date with advances in the spheres of CBT and other agreed psychological therapies

To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients and to monitor and evaluate progress during the course of care.

To represent the CBT psychological resource of the CMHT in relationships with other agencies and care providers, and to provide advice and leadership in respect of psychological aspects of client care. Maintaining professional body (BABCP) accreditation and registration and supporting other CBT therapists to achieve this in a timely manner.

  • Post graduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Full Accreditation (or working towards accreditation) with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)
  • Professional qualification in health or social care e.g as Clinical Psychologist, Nurse, Social Worker Occupational Therapist or psychological therapies therapist

Desirable

  • Further training in at least one (other) psychological therapy

  • oExperience of working with a wide variety of client groups across the whole life course, presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including working with experiences of trauma and abuse, using CBT
