Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join the psychological provision of the Gainsborough Community Mental Health Team (part of the West CCG) in Lincolnshire. The Community Mental Health Team is located within the Adult Community Mental Health Division and our mission is to provide high quality psychological services to adults who live in Lincolnshire.
The successful applicant will be working within the integrated community team, providing services for individuals of working age and beyond, implementing evidence-based psychological interventions for clients with a range of difficulties. The post will involve liaison with other professions within the mental health service, including Clinical Psychologists, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists, Assistant and Trainee Clinical Psychologists, Support Workers and Peer Support Workers, therefore communication and team-working skills are essential. The post holder will be encouraged to contribute to service development. There are good links with the local universities and training courses, and professional development is actively encouraged.

Main duties of the job
Responsible for the autonomous provision of a psychological provision for clients referred to the Community Mental Health Team in Lincoln, West CCG.
Carries a personal caseload and provides specialist psychological services to clients, and to other agencies and professions. Supervises and supports the clinical work of other professions as required.
Provides a specialist psychological service (assessment, formulation and therapeutic intervention) for adults referred to the Community Mental Heath Team.
Undertakes audit and research activities, takes part in CPD and training, and adheres to professional and Trust guidelines

To manage a caseload of patients within the psychological resource of the CMHT; formulating and implementing plans for the psychological treatment and/or management of their mental health, based on psychological theory.
To meet appropriate standards of practice in the quality and timeliness of the service provided. The standards of practice will include meeting the standards defined by the HCPC, British Psychological Society (including the Division of Clinical Psychology where relevant) or the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and Lincolnshire NHS Partnership Foundation Trust.
To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for patients, carers, families and groups. Adjusting and refining psychological formulations and drawing upon a range of theoretical perspectives and different explanatory models.
To provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to patients formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.
To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual patients and to provide general advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management.
To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients under the care and to monitor and evaluate progress during the course of multi-disciplinary care.
To represent the psychological resource of the CMHT in relationships with other agencies and care providers, and to provide advice and leadership in respect of psychological aspects of client care
To provide educational inputs to other professionals and to the staff of other agencies as required in the interests of adults with mental health difficulties
To utilise theory, literature and research to support evidence based practice in individual work and work with other team members.
To undertake appropriate research and/or evaluation, and provide research advice to other staff undertaking research where appropriate.
To engage in ongoing personal professional development
To abide by the relevant organisations codes of conduct (BPS, HCPC, BABCP, LPFT and Department of Health) and to follow guidance issued by these organisations where applicable.
To keep all clinical/non-clinical records up-to-date
To collect data on referrals, case-loads and activities and submit these as required by the psychological resource of the CMHT and the Trust
To ensure the development, maintenance and dissemination of the highest professional standards and practice, through the active participation in internal and external CPD training and development programmes.
To ensure the development and articulation of best practice in psychology within the service area and contribute across the service by exercising the skills of a reflexive and reflective scientist practitioner, taking part in regular professional supervision and appraisal and maintaining an active engagement with current developments in the field of clinical psychology and related disciplines.
To maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping including electronic data entry and recording, report writing and the responsible exercise of professional self-governance in accordance with professional codes of practice of the Health Care Professions Council, the British Psychological Society and Trust policies and procedures.
