Job summary

Exciting opportunity for the individual who wants to join Moorfields Eye Hospital. We are currently looking for a self-motivated, pro-active individual with both excellent time management and organisational skills to join our Medical imaging team as an Ophthalmic Imaging Practice Educator.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for implementing a training programme dedicated for all levels Ophthalmic Vision Science practitioner to provide high quality Diagnostic Imaging Services at Moorfields' including the Trust's satellite and Virtual Clinics, Private Patients and Richard Desmond Children's Eye Centre (RDCEC). The role encompasses supporting junior staff to develop skills and help to embed a continuous quality improvement culture across the service. The post holder will act as an exemplar and professional role-model in embracing core values of, excellence, equity and kindness.

Develop and implement audit programmes that will evaluate the effectiveness of the skills training and education programmes

Deliver / organise training / updates for medical devices where required

Essential

  • BSc imaging or equivalent experience
  • MSc imaging or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Postgraduate education qualification

Experience

Essential

  • More than 5 years in ophthalmic imaging at senior level
  • Expert in a full range of ophthalmic imaging
  • More than 5 years experience in teaching and training ophthalmic imaging staff
  • Experience of writing and delivering education programmes for technical staff

Desirable

  • Course/Module leader for a commercial education programme in ophthalmic diagnostics
  • Quality Improvement project experience

Knowledge

Essential

  • Extensive knowledge of the full range of ophthalmic imaging techniques
  • Extensive knowledge of the diagnostic requirements for different pathologies
