Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Advanced Orthoptist who can deliver core and sub specialty Orthoptic practice alongside providing expertise and leadership at a local child health centre Hackney Arc. The Arc is a multi disciplinary community centre providing out-patient assessment and care to children and young adults with special education needs and disabilities one day a week. We welcome applicants who would be interested in working either full-time or part-time hours.

Main duties of the job

The role will be predominantly based at Moorfields Eye Hospital, City Road with Monday at Hackney Arc Child Health Centre (Homerton Hospital community site) on Mondays.

The successful candidate will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team across a range of sub specialty clinics including botulinum toxin, motility, paediatric, adnexal, neurology and orthoptic-optometric led services.

The candidate will be expected to work autonomously in new patient clinics and be experienced to be able to be able to make appropriate onward referrals.

One day a week the successful candidate will support the organisation and delivery of paediatric service at Homerton Hospital Hackney Arc Child Health Centre, this includes referral triaging, offering advice and guidance to other health care professionals whilst working closely with service manager to provide a seamless high quality care.
