Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for part time (6.25 Sessions) Fixed term (Until end of September 2025) Locum Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in the Medical Retina Service at City Road and North Divisions (Ealing Site).
The post holder will be responsible for the ongoing care and management of Medical Retina patients within the trust. The successful candidate will be expected to provide training for junior doctors and to support the further development of the Allied Health Care Professionals within the service.
Candidates should have completed their Specialist Training in Ophthalmology, have their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent, or be within six months of their CCT date. Candidates are required to be in possession of the Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists or equivalent. The holder of this post is required to be fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold a license to practice. The successful candidate should have completed at least a year of subspecialty Medical Retina fellowship training.
Main duties of the job
Leadership and Team Working
To demonstrate excellent leadership skills with regard to individual performance, clinical teams, the Trust and when participating in national or local initiatives.To work collaboratively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and Partners as required.To chair regular meetings for the specialties.To resolve conflict and difficult situations through negotiation and discussion, involving appropriate parties.Adhere to Trust/departmental guidelines on leave including reporting absence.
