Main duties of the job
o The job holder will be part of the Elective Care Team, consisting of Ward clerks, Admissions co-ordinators and RTU - injection service.o Manage day to day running of the ward without supervisiono To provide a high standard reception service and general administrative support whilst being first point of contact to patientso When cancelling patients accurately record their RTT status ensuring the correct pathway is maintained.o Admit and discharged patients in a timely manner.o Book post operative appointments within the times and clinics stated.o Respond to all requests and other queries via email promptly.o Manning Netcall - the trusts telephone system.o Booking of transports/interpreters.o Ensure all appropriate departments are kept informed regarding changes to a patient's surgery (cancellations) Ie. Admissions coordinators, theatreso Must have the ability to adapt to multicultural needs and requestso Have a good attention to detail, good organisational skills, be pro-active in decision making, punctual, computer literate, and a good sense of humour.

Manage day to day running of the wards without supervision To provide a high standard reception service and general administrative support whilst being first point of contact to patients. Admit and discharged patients in a timely manner. Book post operative appointments within the times and clinics stated. Respond to all requests and other queries via email promptly. Booking of transports/interpreters. Accurately record patients attendance and discharges on the Trusts electronic system correctly. Maintain a good knowledge of RTT outcomes and the affect it has on patient pathways. Accurately discharge patients once surgery complete using the correct RTT code When cancelling patients accurately record their RTT status ensuring the correct pathway is maintained. Liaising with the coding team to ensure patient pathway through surgery is recorded accurately on PAS. This includes looking up patient history through the discharge lists and investigating for any PAS errors. Liaise very closely with the other team members within the Elective Care Team consisting of Admissions, Ward Clerks and RTU - Injection service. Track all patient Health Records appropriately to the relevant service, using the electronic case note tacking system. Respond to all requests and other queries via email promptly Communicate with Jungle ward and DSU to get update on the admitting and discharge of Moorfields patients as these wards are based within St Georges main hospital. To liase and communicate effectively with nurses/doctors and theatres of any changes or problems that arise on the day of surgery for patients; I.e. late arrival etc.
