Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Quality, Service Improvement and Sustainability (QSIS) team for a new Service Improvement Manager based at our Bedford Site for a fixed term period of 12 months.
We are looking for organised, enthusiastic individuals who are self-motivated but also enjoy working in a team. In addition to project management skills they will need to be able to deliver change, lead through influence and rethink established practice.
The role of Service Improvement Manager requires proven experience of managing major transformational change projects to a successful conclusion, including realising objectives and benefits delivery within the project deadline and costs.
Moorfields at Bedford
The service improvement manager will be responsible for managing a service improvement project at the Trust's Bedford site. The project has elements of change across a number of workstreams including: clinical pathway re-design, operational performance turnaround, digital, workforce development, contracting and finance. There is a strong quality and patient safety thread which runs through the project. It will involve working with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally.
The post holder will be expected to be on site at Bedford hospital 3 days per week and 2 days per week remote or at the Moorfields City Road site.

Main duties of the job
The service improvement manager is directly responsible for the management and delivery of specific cross-cutting projects that form part of the Trusts Excellence Programme.
The post holder is responsible for ensuring that each cross-cutting project is managed using the Trusts' project and programme management framework to deliver successful outputs, outcomes and realisable benefits on time and within budget.
This will involve setting project objectives, determining project scope and deliverables, developing a robust project plan, risks and issues management, and monitoring and reporting arrangements.
