Main duties of the job
The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Manager will be the operational lead and subject matter expert for staff EDI improvements across the Trust.
The post holder will support the senior leadership of the Trust with expert advice on best practice in relation to identifying and evaluating opportunities and implementing solutions to improve organisational culture and staff experience.
The post holder will lead the development and operational implementation of the Trust's EDI strategic objectives. This includes stakeholder engagement, definition, and delivery of the implementation plan, developing a suite of metrics to monitor progress, and evaluation of the interventions.
The post holder will lead on reporting and improving the Trust's position on the Gender Pay Gap, the Ethnicity Pay Gap, the Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) and Workforce Disability Equality Standard (WDES).

In partnership with key stakeholders across the Trust, and taking an evidence-led approach, develop the EDI Strategic Priorities for the next three years, ensuring the identified interventions actively support colleague engagement at all levels of the workforce.
Programme manage the delivery of the implementation plan that underpins the EDI Strategic Priorities, including the actions associated with improving the Trusts performance on WRES, WDES and Gender Pay Gap, ensuring high impact outcomes as measured by a suite of quantitative and qualitative KPIs.
Work in conjunction with the Chair of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Steering Group in the monitoring, governance, and development of the EDI agenda.
Colleague engagement and voice:
Develop a creative and compelling communication and engagement plan to increase awareness, share progress and ensure colleagues lived experience informs our approach to EDI.
Work in partnership with the Trusts Staff Networks and staff side to mature and grow Staff Networks, ensuring they have defined objectives and associated delivery plans, that are complementary to the Trusts EDI Strategic Priorities.
Identify gaps and support the creation of new network groups as required.
Engage all relevant stakeholders in the promotion of the EDI agenda and achievements ensuring that all protected characteristics are addressed and ensuring that the aims, objectives and benefits of an inclusive organisation are measured, understood, embraced and delivered.
Provide complex, sometimes sensitive, or contentious information and feedback to Executive Leads and senior colleagues to enable compassionate and inclusive leadership.
Reporting and analysis:
Develop and implement effective arrangements for regular reporting into the Trust governance structure. This will include updating, developing, implementing, and reviewing of all related policies and objectives in EDI area of work.
Take the organisational lead and expert role in the required reporting of the national data including but not exclusively; WRES, WDES, and EDS data and ensuring robust action plans are in place to deliver improved outcomes year on year.
Collaborate with HRBPs and their divisional leadership teams to effectively analyse data, supporting Divisions to develop local reporting in a targeted and meaningful way and in line with the strategic principles
Benchmark our equality performance against other Trusts across the UK drawing upon nationally recognised examples of good practice.
